Thermography can be utilized by men, women, and children of any age!
Thermography is a safe, painless, state-of-the-art screening procedure that monitors the body's physiological changes through heat temperature readings. This screening tool helps aid in early detection of cancer and other diseases.
Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) measures infrared radiation emitted from the surface of the body.
As new pathologies(such as tumors) and physiological changes take place in the body, new blood vessels form, a process called angioneogenesis. These new blood vessels emit heat, which can then be detected by a specialized infrared thermal camera.
Traditional medical screening tests, such as X-rays (mammograms), ultrasounds and MRI's, focus on disease management; whereas Thermography focuses on finding "problem" areas in the body and areas of inflammation before they turn into disease processes. Thermography is a great adjunctive screening tool to help understand what's taking place in the body.
After the thermal images are taken, a team of Doctors and Thermologists certified by the Professional Academy of Clinical Thermology (PACT), interpret the thermal images, note abnormalities, and, if warranted, make recommendations for further evaluation.
